A new SpringHill Suites by Marriott will open in March 2016 behind the Costco in Cedar Park. The hotel will have 86 rooms, a full bar, 1,500 sq ft meeting space, and a 3,000 sq ft outdoor space when open. City of Cedar Park announced a new road construction project. This project will widen Whitestone Blvd from four to six lanes between Parmer Lane and Sam Bass Road, add turn lanes for side streets and rebuild the intersection of Whitestone and Parmer Lane/Ronald Reagan Boulevard.
The new intersection will be a partial continuous-flow intersection. Drivers turning left from Whitestone to Parmer / Ronald Reagan will wait at a separate light to turn left. A full description including a diagram is available here.
This project will cost $22 million and is estimated to take 16 months (estimated completion December 2015).

Nothing Bundt Cake will close it's 1890 Ranch location and relocate to 10225 Research Blvd., Ste. 330, Austin. The new location opened on August 23rd.
Coming soon is a Chipotle Mexican Grill at 909 E. Whitestone Blvd. near the In-n-Out Burger and BJ's Brewhouse.
The new BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse just across 1431 from Quest Village is set to open on September 29th at 11am.
The City of Cedar Park will unveil the draft of its new Comprehensive Plan at three community unveilings this month. Citizens are strongly encouraged to attend and see the new draft Plan, which identifies future goals for how our community will look and feel, and how new amenities and vacant land near your home might develop over time. This plan will help shape Cedar Park over the next 20 years.

Fireworks are always illegal within the entire fire service area of the City of Cedar Park, including the City's ETJ (extra territorial jurisdiction), and areas within 5,000 feet (just under a mile) of the City limits. The fine for possessing, using, and disposing of illegal fireworks can be up to $2,000 plus court costs.
The City recommends letting the professionals handle the fireworks.
Don't forget, the first ever Fourth of July Parade will be at 10 a.m., beginning at Cedar Park Center (2100 Avenue of the Stars) and ending at the Cedar Park Recreation Center (1435 Main Street).

The Mobility Authority and TxDOT will host an Open House this July on the proposed mobility improvements to US 183 from SH 45 North to MoPac.

Cedar Park City Council is considering reducing the speed limit on Whitestone Blvd. between Market Street and Sam Bass Road during the upcoming TXDOT improvements. The speed limit would revert to 60 mph once improvements are completed.
