If you're looking for an alternative to Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts for your family, check out the Adventure Guides through the YMCA. Activities are geared toward the whole family rather than Father/Son or Mother/Daughter and cover both camping and other activities. An upcoming Trailhead Adventure day is scheduled for Saturday, August 29th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. Come out for an afternoon of fun and food. From the YMCA description:

Trail Head Adventure Day is an introduction to the YMCA Adventure Guide program. Activities will include: Archery, tent relays, fishing practice, s'mores and a hot dog BBQ. This is a great way to introduce families to the Y-Guides program which is a year of family adventure fun. The event is FREE and there is a family gift for those attending.
